Huh yes ! The place is not a 5 star resort, no. Founded early 70s, that makes it, if not the first, one of the first to open in Florida. I visited many before ending up in Concept House, Charter Clinic in London, Betty Ford in Naples......but Concept Hse is were my behaviour took me. My parents, as any parent had wanted the best for me and those 2 seemed to be the best. Not for me though, I needed a bit of reality in my life. Concept House showed me reality in a safe environment . Im alive thanks to Concept Hse. There I opened my eyes to what my life would be like if I handnt had my parents to save me everytime. My addiction cared little about smells, good food, a gym and a pool to chill between therapies. No, I wasnt going to meet Kate Moss in Concept Hse, they have court mandated clients there, which is what I would be if, again, my parents hadnt bailed me out. One out of 100 makes it , many die, many end up under a bridge speaking to themselves. If your concern is gourmet food, nice gardens and a pool maybe Concept Hse is not for you.....yet. Theres plenty of classy places in the area which offer a variety of entretainment and services to make your stay as comfortable and easy going as possible. Thanks Ralph.

I CAN ONLY SPEAK FOR MYSELF AND MY EXPERIENCE. My child was court ordered to attend Concept House, I was nervous and scared. My first impression after seeing the photos and reading the reviews did not help. However, I took the step, let down my guard and set forth, with my child, to join the program. I am grateful I moved forward. My child has had the opportunity to be under the care of an amazing person, Sterling. I could not have asked for anyone better to help and manage my child's treatment. Is it an easy road, HELL NO!! Sterling and his coworkers made all the difference in my childs life. As for the facility, it is not 5 star, it is a state funded home. I will say they are in the process now for renovations, they have become an adolescent only home. I am hoping that they are able to put forth the effort to become something even greater!
I'm not able to read through all of these negative reviews but just glancing at them, I read that there's alot of crybaby parents. First of all CONCEPT HOUSE is a (Voluntary Program) unless you are court ordered to complete. And Second, this is not a high security facility nor a day care program. Your child is here because they are a F*ck up, and needs intensive 1 on 1 therapy help. PROS: intimate program houses about 6 bed in boys house, so you'll know no one falls behind and every kid gets attention they need. Family-therapist meet once a week: personal about an hour long, able to bring food to eat with our son. Daily school (after being processed thru) Daily rec time to burn off stress/energy. Random 5+ minute phone call maybe twice a week. Bad reception. Good that it's random and quick boys cannot plan/get into mischief. Once a week horse therapy, grooming/training Staff Rhonda and Sterling were great, very fair, used good judgement with our son CONS: Food is bad tasting-quality (we were warned about this) although food is crap our 17 year old gained weight eating more than his share. Our middle 17 year old child has been a F*ck up majority of his teen life. He has it all, from being suicidal, to drug addiction, and anger behavior issues, he also has been thru multiple programs in this great state. He recently graduated from Concept House, and although he hasn't earned much in his life, we are proud that he has completed this. Thank you CONCEPT HOUSE Miami for being flexible and aiding in the rehabilitation of our son. Although it's only a week that he's been out, the therapy and 1 on 1 shadowing of him has paid off. He is definitely more open and communicating well with us.
